A slate "tablet"—a rare find in an Esk antique store a few years ago was unearthed again in the studio—buried amongst the "stuff". Such a great item. And it is startling how close it is in size to an iPad.
I'm pondering doing a series of portraits on the slate tablet, an old QLD school classroom gem. It's as rough as guts and very unforgiving to sketch in chalk—just brilliant.
Here it is sitting with the iPad—the "screen" size is uncannily close. Only one of these is still functioning to this day. It just needs chalk to boot up.
